PRAGUE SIGHTS

 

Prague is considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The historic centre of Prague is included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Prague with its exquisitely preserved historical center is known as the City of Hundred Spires.

 

°  HRADČANY - Prague Castle

While in Prague, you can´t miss the Prague castle. Noted in the Guiness Book of World Records for the largest continuous castle complex in the world. The castle has been home to Czech Kings, Holy Roman Emporers, and the offices of Czech Presidents. The castle grounds include St.Vitus Cathedral, palaces and gardens as well as other buildings.

 °  MALÁ STRANA - the Lesser Quarter

Lesser Quarter dates back to the 13th century. Its location is right under the Prague Castle. Many tourist attractions are located within the Lesser Town - Charles Bridge, Nerudova Street, Lesser Town Square, St. Nicholas CathedralKampa Island...  These sights along with baroque palaces and old houses is what makes this part a must-see.

 °  STARÉ MĚSTO - the Old Town

The Old Town is the original place of settlement of Prague.  Its centre, the Old Town Square is from the 12th century, the town hall with astronomical clock was built in the 14th century.  There are many other places of interest in the Old Town - narrow streets, palaces, gothic and baroque churches as well as the old Jewish Quarter.
